So that complete novices can compete, the rules of the Trophy are extremely simple:

A blue course
This is an easy course based on a concept used in ski races, where the markings take into account the participant’s level. It will be arranged around two buoys, on a course perpendicular to the wind. The buoys will be circled by turning down wind. A starting and finish line will allow boats to navigate without working to windward.

Fifteen-minute regattas
Four boats will circle the buoys for 10 minutes and then head for the finish line. The first one to arrive will be selected for the next leg of the competition.
This organisation will allow at least fifty participants to compete every day.

A shore departure
The starting line is on the beach. The helmsmen will run to their boat, which is on the sand near the water's edge. They will launch the boat by pulling it into the water and then board.

Randomly drawn boats
The sails will all have the same surface area, dictated by the wind conditions. The helmsmen will randomly draw the number of the boat that they will race.

Rules of the race
They have been simplified to the extreme. You are allowed to touch a buoy or a competitor's boat with your own boat. You are not allowed, under penalty of disqualification, to touch buoys or competitors' boats with your hand.
The jury's decision is final and is given at the end of each race.

First Prize
The winner of the Final will be presented with a Maora Trimaran by Mr.
Jean-Charles HENNI, Director of NAUTYLYS • ROTOPLUS.
